Because sometimes NOT being anonymous can make things difficult |
|
So you have a band. Nice! Unless you hire a set of nondescript musicians (hired guns) to do each show, you probably get to know the guys (or gals) in your band pretty well. Some can even become good friends over time.
The problem playing with friends (or worse yet, family) can create is sometimes the band as a whole improves, but an individual player does not, or attitude issues crop up. There can be a lot of reasons why you may want to replace a member of your band, but let's be honest, if you let him (or her) know their tenure is short lived, they may just up and leave the band leaving you hanging with gigs on your schedule. While continuing to play with them, because of their attitude or ability may be stressful, it still isn't as bad as trying to bring a new guy up to speed in a couple of days. If you don't have a short list of great players waiting to join your band of merry minstrels, you'll need to go looking for a replacement player. You need to get the word out, but what if the guy you're replacing comes across your Craig's List ad with your name or email address on it? You're right back in the position you'd have been in, if you told him he is history as soon as you can find a replacement and bring said replacement up to speed. That's going to end poorly! You need to be anonymous and still convey to potential new band mates that you're serious and that you have a serious band. You need Bandmail.Us! With a Bandmail.Us temporary email account you can have any unused 'handle' you want (yourhandle@bandmail.us) subject to approval. For instance if you want razorwire@bandmail.us to be your temporary email address, it's all yours unless another Bandmail.Us client has snagged it. At this time, Bandmail.Us is offering 2 different anonymity packages:
